My background is in engineering and logistics. After graduating from the University of Arkansas with an industrial engineering degree, I spent 8 years working as a logistics engineer. I eventually realized that corporate America was just not where I was meant to be, so I took about a year and a half off. During that time, I ran my vacation rental in Eureka Springs, AR and took several trips with my husband and daughter (Including Disney World!). I've always known that vacations were a huge stress reliever for me, but the past year really solidified that. I got so much joy from traveling and from making sure my vacation rental guests were having a stress free getaway! After planning our Disney World trip and having the best week of my life there, I knew immediately that I would love to do that for other people.
Disney World with my husband and daughter was the best week of my life. I know that sounds like hyperbole, but it really is not. I spent 3 MONTHS planning that trip. Seven nights at Port Orleans Riverside, all four parks, three character dinners, two themed dining advanced reservations, one signature dinner, a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeover, advance ride reservations through DAS, 25 character signatures, and 102k steps later, and we had finally had our first family vacation where all 3 of us were happy, entertained, and having the time of our lives!
Cruises were our obsession when we first got married. There are so many cheaper options, especially if you're close enough to drive to a port. While on cruises I've swam with dolphins and stingrays, climbed up waterfalls, and relaxed on privately owned islands. Our next cruise will be an Alaskan and I can't wait to introduce my daughter to all the kid specific activities, pools, hot tubs, and attractions on the boats!
Our first all-inclusive is coming up THIS SUMMER. We've picked the Hilton All Inclusive in Cancun. I've been to Cancun before on a cruise and cannot wait to go back. The best part about All-Inclusives is that they really immerse you in the local culture without the feeling of being lost in an unfamiliar country. Also... the food! I expect at least one of us to get sick from the unlimited ice cream and churros. Similar to cruises, All-Inclusives have kid specific activities and clubs which leaves the kids happy and gives the adults the time for a relaxing dinner alone!
